From June 13 to 19, 2010 the charitable foundation Podari Zhyzn and the football club Lokomotiv will organize the First World Winners’ Games for Children in Moscow.
This event is a sport competition. The main sports events are accessible to children with different physical abilities. The program includes:
• Football (mini-football);
• Chess (individual event regardless of sex according to the Swiss system);
• Athletics (running 60 m, 100 m , 4õ60 m relay, mixed relay, youth triathlon);
• swimming (freestyle, breaststroke, èackstroke, mixed relay 4 õ 50 m);
• Shooting (10 m, air rifle);
• Table tennis.
Competitions are held in age groups 7-9 years, 10-13 years, 14-16 years old. Each participant may compete in no more than two individual sports. In swimming and track and field athletics one may participate in two disciplines. If there is a sufficient number of participants, additional competitions will be organized: street-ball, pioneer-ball, bowling. The teams from different countries were invited to participate in the Games: two teams from Russia (Moscow and regions), USA, Germany, Israel, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Czech Republic. The participants of the Games are children between 7 and 16 years of age who were affected by cancer and completed their treatment. The main criteria for the participation are the completion of treatment and the permission of the doctor to participate in competitions.
The organizers cover all the expenses on the territory of Russia, including: accommodation, meals, transfers, sightseeing and entertainment, sports kits. The participants have to pay only for the passage to Moscow.
The program of the event:
June 13, Sunday – meeting teams, transfer to the hotel, accommodation, dinner, organizational meeting.
June 14, Monday – opening ceremony of the World Winners’ Games for Children, competitions in athletics, chess, shooting, visiting the circus and the dolphinarium, dinner at the hotel.
June 15, Tuesday – competition in football, swimming, the closing ceremony of the World Winners’ Games for Children, concert, disco.
June 16, Wednesday – teams’ departure.
The objective of the event is to draw attention to the problems of children affected by cancer. Therefore, the event will be held with the assistance of the statesmen, sports, film, theater and music stars.
