Dear friends,

2009 is coming to an end. In spite of the economical crisis and other difficulties, this year turned out to be very fruitful for Zaporuka. We understood that there are no such economical problems that prevent people from helping those who are in need.

Thank to the common efforts in 2009 we have opened the Center for children affected by cancer “Smile”. There seven families with ill children live on a regular basis and the patients of the paediatric department of the Institute of Cancer come to spend their free time every day.
We have started a new project “Let’s Anticipate the Trouble”, the main aim of which is to raise the oncological awareness both among paediatricians and among parents.

For the National Institute of Cancer we have purchased the morphological microscope Nikon, the price of which is 15 000 euro and the camera to equip the microscope providing the FISH method tumor genetic diagnostics, the price of which is 17 000 euro. This equipment must help in making a correct diagnosis and choosing a right protocol of treatment.
